Halo 4 beats Black Ops 2 in 'most anticipated' list - Nielson

Could Call of Duty's dominance of the FPS market be waning? Possibly, according to a recent survey which names Halo 4 as 2012's most highly anticipated game on Xbox 360 above the mighty Black Ops 2.

The results of the Nielson survey says that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the most anticipated game on PS3, but not on Microsoft's console, on which Halo 4 takes the top spot forcing Activision's FPS powerhouse to settle for second.
From there on it's the usual suspects on both platforms; Assassin's Creed 3, Madden NFL 13, Darksiders 2 and Resident Evil 6 fill the upper slots as you would expect.

Nielsen collated the results from the survey answers of 4,823 male and female "active gamers" between the ages 7 to 54 collected throughout the month of June - to tie in with game announcement at E3.

5000 people is hardly the most all-encompassing figure, but enough to get a general lay of the land.

Wii gamers voted Just Dance 4 as their most anticipated, but they don't exactly have much to choose from.

VEVO Lol. They actually let 7 year olds put in their opinion on an FPS that they shouldn't even be playing? And I don't see how under 5000 people is an actual feasible figure to state it's the most anticipated game. They need to do some sort of online poll or something.

Please tell me where I was freaking out exactly? I just said I don't see this as feasible data. You can't base a group of 5000 people to the other millions of gamers out there. And I never stated COD anywhere so don't bring that up as if you knew my thoughts. I do play CoD but I play Battlefield and GTA way more than that.

Trust me your gonna be disappointed when BO2 comes out, That's how it's been with the past few CoDs.

I wouldn't say that about black ops/ as for MW3- the biggest let down in my opinion... But also you have to remember treyarch makes the best CODs in my opinion...


I'm sure you thought Black Ops sucked when it was the latest game, and you will say MW3 is good next year.

CoD isn't the only game, so I'm glad people are realizing that. Black Ops 2 seemed really stupid, but I think it will be fun in the beginning. I'm looking forward to both games though.

Trust me your gonna be disappointed when BO2 comes out, That's how it's been with the past few CoDs.

I wouldn't say that about black ops/ as for MW3- the biggest let down in my opinion... But also you have to remember treyarch makes the best CODs in my opinion...

They said most anticipated on Xbox 360, cod is on more than one console so the fact it has more pre-orders doesn't really count.

Just because it's 2nd out of 5000 people doesn't mean much. I actually enjoy seeing Cod at a place besides 1st.i'm not much of a Halo Fan, but i actually find it amusing seeing Cod not winning. I mean they spend all that $$ on advertising the game for 2nd place...lol.
I went to see The Dark Knight Rises yesterday and Black Ops 2 had a Preview. I Mean come on, you will be a best seller anyway, you don't need to advertise in Movies now!


Adding onto the advertising thing, Halo 4 is going to have a cinema trailer and they have barely started any advertising so when it starts to get advertised more people will know about the game and therefore will most likely be interested and possibly buy it.

BlackPhazor Halo is a better FPS than COD. Halo 3 dominated the market, Reach didn't, but Reach kinda sucks. To this day, there are still more Halo 3 players than COD 4 players, and COD 4 came out after Halo 3. Halo 4 should obviously beat out COD: BO2 in Xbox sales. COD9 is basically just COD 4.5, since they're all the same thing after COD 4.


There are also more Halo 3 players than Call of Duty World at War. ;D H3 is sitting at 13/20 while CoD 4 and 5 are at 18/20 and 19/20.. it's something like that, towards the bottom of the list.
