GTA 5 will not be shown at Gamescom

Speculation over the its highly anticipated project's appearance at Europe's biggest games event has intensified in recent weeks, due in part to an official Gamescom trailer which featured a snippet of footage from Rockstar North's next crime opus.
But a spokesperson for Gamescom has told CVG that the Grand Theft Auto V footage was included "in error".

Franko Fischer, communications manager of Gamescom's organising body Koelnmesse, said "Rockstar Games is not scheduled and has never been scheduled to exhibit at Gamescom 2012".

He said that all GTA V footage has now been removed from the Gamescom trailer.

"We apologise for any confusion this may have caused," he added.

Fischer was nevertheless upbeat about the show's appeal to the games market. He said there would be numerous world premieres and surprise reveals at the show.

"Although GTA 5 won't be at the show, I think we will once again have the most spectacular world premieres set for the events," he added.

About seven months have passed since Rockstar sent shockwaves across the industry with a surprise GTA 5 trailer.

Since then, aside from two GTA V screenshots, there has been little information on the new project.

Gamescom begins August 15th and runs throughout the week.

they should at least host an exhibition with info on the game even if there are no playable demo's or video of the gameplay.

ANY INFO about GTA V would be nice tbh...

They probably aren't showing footage of the game because the game won't be until a long time.

I wish it was true, but oh well, doesn't seem like we will see any more info for at least another 1- 1/2 months.

Even though I'm not attending Gamescom, I would have loved to see video footage of it. Can't wait for this game though.

zaruhi You've got to be kidding me! I give up on Rockstar North, we have waited TOO damn long, I mean sure two new screenshots are nice, but what do they give us as information prior to the game wise? Exactly, nothing, it's time to raid Rockstar Games's website.


Relax, We all want more info on it soo Badly but they will when its the right time.
Either way, it's not being released right now, so if we did see more on it then it would just make us want it more while still knowing it won't be out for a while. maybe they are planning on releasing it at the end of 2013 with the new Consoles being released

xFever the more it gets delayed.. the more effort they are putting into the game. which will make a big difference and hopefully make it alot better for us.. there is no rush :)


Yeah a lot of people are being impatient, they just have to wait.
