Limited edition PS3s now available in the UK
Today three limited edition versions of the PS3 console have launched in the UK, starting with a Scarlet Red console, along with Classic White and Satin Silver - both of which were previously exclusive to Japan.
All three consoles come with a DualShock 3 controller matching the colour of the console, and a 320GB hard drive.
If you haven't already got a PS3 does the choice of three new colours entice you to purchase one? Owners of the traditional black PS3: do you wish your console was a fancy colour?

*Never mind what I said in my other post, the FAT white PS3 was exclusive in Japan.

Aura Why does Sony release so many limited editions of their consoles? Especially about 1 year before the next generation consoles hit the market. Just as greedy as microsoft.
They're milking the PS3 to get as much cash out of it as they can. They're pretty much just selling PS3s but in different colors, which gets people to buy it because they're limited edition.
I don't think many people will by the Satin Silver PS3. It seems like it has a brushed metal finish and shines a bit, which would get irritating. I haven't seen the Scarlet Red PS3, but having a vibrant red system in your room would be a bit out of place and sometimes annoying, as well as a distraction. The white one is probably the nicest on imo. It's been exclusive to Japan since like 2007 hasn't it? Damn

I honestly prefer the black console over the white one. I haven't even seen the scarlet ps3 though.

Great! Lucky us... Only major PS3 fans would buy this. Or if you broke your PS3 I guess.
