The next Xbox Dashboard update with internet explorer beta testing opens

You probably want to be one of the first people to explore the internet on your Xbox 360, right? Well, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb just posted up instructions for how to be that dude – all you have to do is sign up for the upcoming Xbox Live Dashboard update beta.

Beyond the opportunity to explore the internet from the comfort of your couch, you'll also get "personalized dashboard recommendations" (whatever that means), and "enhanced category search and discovery features."

Like with so many betas, participants won't be able to write about their experience or take pictures or anything like that until the required non-disclosure agreement expires. But hey, you'll be part of a super secret club, so there's something.

Update: Looks like the beta's full up, y'all. Congrats to those who got in!

Wait, what? Where is IE? I got the update this morning and see some new added stuff but where do I find Internet Explorer?

I got my update this morning and its looking sexy. Apart from IE is 113mb wow that is big. Should of expected it to be at least 100mb since all apps are. Just downloading the update for IE now will post how it looks feels and so on.

I Just got mine,It's pretty cool at first but it get's old. Internet explorer isn't that great because you can not watch any videos. Youtube is a lot better than the app but you can't watch any videos :/

Tune I got the beta now, it's not really that cool as I thought it was going to be. Then again, this is just a beta. Can't wait to see the full thing.

Part of the agreement of using the beta is that you cant post any media about it ;)

Actually, that's BS. For Mac users using Safari, they have the best internet browser. Internet Explorer is the second best. Chrome third. Just because of the fact that they have different java scripts. Java script in explorer is better than chromes. Plus i find it easier, better, faster and cleaner than chrome

A guy who thinks IE is better and faster than Chrome? Lolwut.
