Remedy: Next gen consoles represent 'a quantum leap'

Alan Wake studio is working on a game developed for new hardware
Oskari Hakkinen, head of franchise development at Remedy, has said that as yet unannounced consoles the studio's developing for are significantly more capable than existing hardware.

Speaking to the German edition of GamesIndustry.biz about Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4, or whatever Microsoft's and Sony's next gen consoles will be called, Hakkinen said (via Google translation):
"We are working as usual, first with a relatively small team on a next-generation project. One wonders, yes always is: Can the new consoles really be that much better than the previous Rest assured: it's you, it is a quantum leap."

Back in March, Remedy said it was on the lookout for talent to work on an unannounced project targeted at "future generation consoles".

Neither Sony or Microsoft has officially confirmed plans to launch a new console, but last week EA Labels president Frank Gibeau teased that he'd seen fresh hardware from both companies.

I will see what it looks like and what the features are if im getting it


The main thing im thinking about is the price tbh

If it's $500, I'll have to think about getting it.


I would just wait till the price goes down

Of course it is going to be a 'quantum leap'.
Give developers a few years to upgrade and it will be 100x better than the previous one.
They went from Xbox to Xbox 360 and that was huge. They added Kinect to the Xbox 360, that was really big.

I heard it's going to use processing power 6x better than the Xbox 360, which would have been available two years ago. So it will be a big leap but no where near as powerful as a PC will!


it really depends what PC your going on about, also consoles are cheaper than PC's. You gotta keep that in mind...
