Black Ops 2 breaks GameStop pre-order record

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has broken pre-order records at retail giant GameStop.

Company president Tony Bartel said today: "Consumer anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is tremendous. We are seeing the highest pre-orders in history.
"With its current pace, this Call of Duty is on track to break records and is likely to be our biggest game launch of all time."

Last year's Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 3 recorded "the biggest entertainment launch ever" with an estimated sell-through of more than $400 million and more than 6.5 million units in the US and UK alone in its first 24 hours of availability, according to publisher Activision.

Bartel's comments were delivered as Activision announced that it has reworked its Call of Duty Elite service, which will no longer feature separate premium and free tiers. Instead, all service features will now be free to all, with additional game content to be delivered in four separate packages, which are available to pre-purchase with the Black Ops 2 DLC Season Pass.

Activision has confirmed a Black Ops 2 release date of November 13.

Not a surprise, the Call of Duty franchise is one of the best. Gaining more and more customers every day.

Thy_Blugoon Not really a suprise all cods are overrated & this game will fail if they dont manage to balance the Multiplayer, I'm mainly getting it for zombies and to see what the campaign is all about, but i will be mainly playing halo 4 online unless for some reason this game makes a break through in Multiplayer which no Cod really has since Mw2, even that was horribley unbalanced.


You thought MW2 made a breakthrough in multiplayer, lmao just stop.


It was. It was a giant leap in customization.

as much as it pains me to say it, it did....

it was the first cod to bring in customisable kill streaks, Pro-perks, all these new attachments and camos...

Im not shocked, Treyarch has been known to make great Call Of Duty games that fans love. So I'm happy that they got it to be honest.

griff321 I bet halo 4 may have done better if game stop actually offered good bonuses but hope everyone who buys black ops 2 enjoys it knowing its the same game every year and the prequel was the worst in the series.


But if you pre - order from Best Buy or from Amazon you get something different. At GameStop you only get this forest skin or something.
