Modern Warfare 4 rumour shot down by Captain Price voice actor

Billy Murray, the voice actor behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Captain Price, has shot down reports that he recently confirmed a fourth entry in the blockbuster FPS series is in the works at Infinity Ward.

Late last month he was said to have told a fan that he was set to hold a meeting with the studio regarding a "straight" Modern Warfare sequel.
Responding to the widespread reporting of his comments, Infinity Ward said shortly afterwards: "Interesting news today, but it's not true. We've not talked with any voice actors, so all news is speculation."

And now Murray has joined in the debate on Twitter, implying that the work he was referring to in his original comments was related to the free-to-play Call of Duty game being developed exclusively for the Chinese market.

"This article is not accurate," he said. "I told the guy I was doing a special new Modern Warfare for China, not MW4.

"The guy I spoke to on the plane was very nice and I'm really pleased he loves the game but the facts have got a bit confused somewhere.

"Also I couldn't have said I was meeting them Monday as I was on a Monday evening flight to London! Sorry for the confusion!"

Nevertheless, a Modern Warfare sequel from Infinity Ward or co-developer Sledgehammer Games for release in 2013 remains a strong possibility.

they won't continue the modern warfare series anymore after mw3... or at most mw4... because once you start following a storyline for 5, 6 games it gets old... all stories need an ending and they can't evolve the modern warfare campaign story through 2-3 more games.

Lmfao, the fact that MW3 was even released was a joke, MW3 was not ready and IW & Sledgehammer Games had to rush to mert the yearly deadline for a release. Everybody knows that MW3 is MW2.5, Activision has allready announced that the head studio for COD is now Treyarch. It's about time that we switch gears and design COD from a different perspective, just admit it...
Black Ops was amazing, so many features & mechanics they just lacked in a few departments.
When I play MW3, I feel like im playing MW2 PC with custom maps & guns :facepalm:

Treyarch gave the game it's popularity in the first place.. CoD2: Big Red One. Who made that one? Treyarch. Who made CoD3, arguably one of the best games in the franchise? Treyarch. Treyarch also helped make CoD4: Modern Warfare. CoD is not being designed from a new perspective, rather from an older one that actually worked.
