Black Ops 2: GameStop sells more than 1 million copies at launch

US retailer GameStop has said that it sold approximately 1 million copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 worldwide at its midnight launch events.

GameStop boss Tony Bartel told Bloomberg that the game looks set to break records for the retailer.
"Black Ops II is shaping up to be our biggest game launch of all time," said Bartel. "GameStop sold more than 1 million units worldwide during our midnight launch period."

That's just a fraction of what's expected from the game's full day-one sales, as analyst Michael Olson predicts launch day sales of between 6.5 million and 7.2 million units in the US and UK, according to the report.

Activision said last week that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has the potential to become the best-selling game of all time, with pre-order numbers exceeding that of Modern Warfare 3 - "the most successful pre-order program of all time".

Halo 4 out sold it. It was a new record. Halo 4 beat black ops 2 by 12 million copies. Halo 4 sold 400 million copies on it's first day. I heard black ops 2 sold 387 million.


That's only one day.


Black ops 2 made 500million in the first day, Halo 4 made 220million. Black ops 2 and the call of duty series doubled Halo 4...
