A Nintendo Switch version of Biomutant has been officially announced.

The port will be released on Nintendo‘s console on November 30, publisher THQ Nordic announced on Wednesday.

The game was initially released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles back in May 2021.

In September 2022, a Portuguese retailer listed a Switch version with a release date of October 2022, but this obviously didn’t end up happening. It’s unclear if this was a false listing, or a genuine one posted before an internal delay to the game’s release.

Biomutant was initially billed as “an open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG, with a unique martial art styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting, and mutant ability action”.

Three months after its release, THQ Nordic stated that it had sold 1 million copies to that point, and had recouped all its costs in its first week on sale.

“The full investment into development and marketing as well as the acquisition cost for Experiment 101 and the IP, was recouped within a week after launch,” a company report stated at the time.

This was particularly notable given the lukewarm reception Biomutant received at launch. The game received mixed reviews, and each version currently has a score in the 60s on Metacritic.
