PS3 hits 70m to go neck-and-neck with Xbox 360

Sony has announced that lifetime sales of the PS3 have reached 70 million "sold in," and PlayStation Move sales have surpassed 15 million units worldwide.

The latest milestone puts the firm virtually neck-and-neck with Microsoft, which less than a month ago announced that 70 million Xbox 360 consoles have been sold worldwide.
Xbox 360 launched in November 2005, and PS3 in November 2006.

As of March 31 this year, PS3 sales stood at 63.9 million units, while lifetime Wii sales stood at 96.56 million units as of June 30.

Last month, Microsoft's reported a year-on-year decline in Xbox 360 revenues and shipped units for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2013.

Today the PlayStation corporation also claimed there are now 3,590 games available for PS3.

Alegre I'm kinda glad I mean if you think about it, PS3 is the better console stat-wise but overall I will always love my xbox :)


How exactly is PS3 better "stat" wise?


yea wondering the same thing like as in people or sales or what ?

no ps3 is better its free psn and has way better controllers. i have an xbox and a ps3 ---- ps3 is way better

PS3 has better controllers?! I can't even anderstand that someone thinks like that. xbox controller is much more nicer than PS3 controller


the only way a ps3 controller would be better is if your crippled.


I just almost choked laughing at that! So true though, Xbox controllers are so much more comfy than Playstation ones.

i have owned the wii, ps3, and xbox. each console is better at certain things. it all depends on what you are playing. obviously the wii has mario and all the nintendo characters. thats their pro for gaming, but when it came to ps3 vs xbox. i prefer the xbox. controller is so much better, i used to think ps3 was until i actually played xbox for 2 years. controller fits perfect with your hand. and ppl bitching about online pay.. xbox is also a lot cheaper, and buy the god dang online pay when they have deals or black friday. you get it for like 30 bucks then for the year.

This. I don't think the PS3 is a bad console by any means, but Xbox just does the job so much better. If anyone replies to this "Oooohh you have to pay" I might have to kill you.
