Valorant Reportedly Nerfing Running And Gunning With Next Patch

Riot Games is reportedly planning to make some changes to weapon accuracy in Patch 6.11 that will make run-and-gun tactics less effective. According to Mike|Valorant Leaks & News, a well-known Valorant insider account on Twitter, bullets will now have a lowered chance of hitting the center of your crosshair when moving, which makes it much more difficult to hit opponents while you are moving.

It is yet to be seen how this change will affect guns, but a lot of players have criticized the unfair advantage granted by run-and-gun methods for a long time, especially for weapons like Judge, which doesn't really need much accuracy to drain the health bar of an opponent.

If you've been into Valorant for very long, you have probably encountered Neon players who will pick a Judge and roam around the map with quick moves to terrorize players one after another. However, it is yet to be seen how shotguns will be affected by the new change. A shotgun's benefit over other weapons is the fact that it doesn't require pixel-perfect aiming, so reducing a shotgun's accuracy would probably hurt its core purpose in the game.

Aside from shotguns, this could be a huge change for other weapons like Vandal, Phantom, and especially Spectre. Although Spectre is not a shotgun, it has been quite a perfect weapon for running and shooting, as the weapon offers a high fire rate, allowing you to make sure that you will at least hit your target a few times after draining a complete magazine.

Other than that, this possible accuracy change could highly affect pre-firing in Valorant. There have been times when one player is aware of another's location camping behind cover, and the first uses pre-fire to increase the chance of hitting the target before they can even aim back. However, a reduction in accuracy might make pre-firing useless.

Aside from the run-and-gun update, Patch 6.11 might also bring a buff to all Chamber skills as well as a nerf to Viper's toxin regeneration rate. According to PBE patch notes, Riot Games is attempting to increase the range at which Trademark will remain active and reduce the time it takes to become enabled after deployment. Also, Chamber's ultimate, Tour De Force, will fire 15% faster.
