Grand Theft Auto franchise reaches 125 million sales

Since the launch of the very first Grand Theft Auto, the franchise has shipped over 125 million units to retailers.
With Grand Theft Auto: IV accounting for 25 million units alone.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick announced the achievement at this year's Credit Suisse Technology Conference.

Zelnick claims that part of the franchise's success is down to their irregular releases. Zelnick used the Call of Duty series and their annual release as a comparison, remarking that Black Ops 2 is performing poorer commercially than Modern Warfare 3 had done.

"That's never been the case with one of ours," said Zelnick. "Ours do better each time.”
”IP that is annualized eventually seems to hit the wall and we don't want our IP to hit the wall."

Lmao. Yeah, maybe more than BO2, but this is ALL of the GTA's combined. Guarentee Black Ops, MW3 and BO2 together have more sales than ANY gaming franchise/series, just with those 3 games. Now all of the CoDs combined? Blows every other series of games out of the water.
