Sales of Call of Duty are disappointing.
Analysts are calling this trend “a cause for concern” for Activision-Blizzard as the Call of Duty franchise is responsible of 45% of Activision's earnings.
Players and reviewers have become increasingly complacent regarding the latest Call of Duty releases, going so far as to call Treyarch and Infinity Ward, lazy. Shorter single player campaigns and the same old game engine being the most common complaints.
David Vondehaar recently had to defend the use of an ancient (in gaming years) gaming engine. “Anybody who comes at the engine needs to remember it's the 60 frames they love in the first place," he asserted. "And we can make it beautiful - that's through years and years of working with the engine, improving upon it and improving the pipeline and improving our approach, our lighting rendering.”
"People like to talk about the engine, but the truth of the matter is that this isn't like something that was invented six years ago. At this point that engine doesn't resemble anything like any engine - we've ripped out the UI system, the rendering and the lighting are all new, the core gameplay systems are all new.”

L33t-Ninja-MuchVlifAR15 I think they did a good job with Black Ops 2.
Well this is just my opinion, but i really think its terrible :P
Helpless the game itself is disappointing
i dont see how its actually very amazing different guns way different maps and just alot more going for it
I agree. What I think the problem is, is that they use a lot of the guns from MW3. I guess people don't realize that those guns will more than likely be used just as much around 2025. Heck, a lot of the guns out military use are over 50 years old. Why? Because they work. If Treyarch had gone out of their way to create new guns, it be more like the halo series. Which is what people were afraid of in the first place. When the first trailer came out, all is showed was a couple of jets(from the campaign) and a couple of semi-futuristic kill streaks and people were freaking out like, "OMG THIS GAME HAS TURNED INTO HALO." I'm tellin ya, fans scream non-stop for new this and new that and when they get it their all like, "Why is this different!?" But I guess that's just one of those things you just can't avoid.

n3xtstuff I think its cuz most people I know arent buying it because they dont have money. People under the age of 17 are probably most of the people playing call of duty
Agreed. A lot of my older brothers friends just dont have time for it now in college and don't find it necessary to spend $60 on some entertainment. I still got the game but have only 4 hours played on it and haven't had time to even start the campaign. Growing up is tough. :/ #firstworldproblems.

Obviously not if it didn't sell a lot in the first place, something that this new post is ALL about. Idiot.
