One new feature of the game is the Kameo, a selectable familiar that can pop in during a fight similar to assist players. These Kameos can contribute to extending the combo string, or even to counter any attacks and stop a barrage of hits when timed right. The Kameos are a neat way of inserting literal cameos from characters who didn't make the cut. However, some gamers think that Mortal Kombat 1 should make the Kameos playable eventually. Although there is no word yet on this request, Kameos continue to serve their purpose as fans constantly find ways to maximize their usage.
One Mortal Kombat 1 Raiden player found an absurd long-string combo while using Stryker as their Kameo. The clip was posted on Twitter and showed Raiden and Stryker doing a practice fight on a non-moving opponent. The 23-hit combo was able to completely decimate the opponent's life bar, which created some concern in the comment section. While great combinations and combos are impressive to watch, the thought of not being able to block the attacks could cause a huge imbalance in the hands of skilled players. Especially for a competitive fighting game that could be heavily featured in official tournaments, this is something NetherRealm Studios arguably must address. Granted, additional comments state that part of the reason this works was because it was a training match.

Mortal Kombat 1 has gotten high praise from many critics. With the game expected to be a hit for fans and non-fans alike, any issues that could arise should be quashed as early as possible to avoid any backlash. While many gamers enjoy the competitive field, some players do want to be able to enjoy casual fighting without having to worry about skill. The threat that a non-skilled player will join a game and not be able to even get a hit in might push some people away.
Those who haven't been keeping up can read about Mortal Kombat 1 to find out what there is to expect with the game. While crossplay is a feature that players will be able to utilize eventually, casual fans need not worry about professional and skilled players from different consoles flocking in and destroying the experience for many. There's still time for NRS to fix these unblockable combos before cross-platform fights become possible.
Mortal Kombat 1 launches September 19 for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
