Halo 4 Majestic Map Pack Coming Next Month, Spartan Ops and Playlist Schedules

Halo 4′s Majestic Map Pack DLC has been given a release window of next month by 343 Industries, and the developer has also revealed the latest Spartan Ops schedule.

“Matchmaking updates go live every Monday, and potential playlists for the month of February include both FFA and a new and improved version of Team Snipers. Late February will also bring both a Title Update and the Majestic Map Pack (which includes two small maps and one medium-sized map) to Halo 4 as well,” a post on Halo Waypoint reads.


A content schedule for Halo 4 over the next few weeks can be found below:

Week of 1/21

  • Spartan Ops Episode 6: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
  • “Forge Test” playlist (name not final): A rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps such as Relay. Help us test these maps by providing feedback and reporting bugs that will assist us in getting them ready for Matchmaking!
  • Specializations: Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations unlocked for all players.

Week of 1/28

  • Spartan Ops Episode 7: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
  • Grifball playlist: A rotational hopper featuring everybody’s favorite virtual sport. Catch the disease!
  • Specializations: Engineer and Stalker Specializations unlocked for all players.

Week of 2/4

  • Spartan Ops Episode 8: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
  • Team Doubles playlist: A rotational hopper for those of you that like action of the 2 vs 2 variety.
  • Specializations: Rogue and Tracker Specializations unlocked for all players.

"alright team, how can we really please our new fans?"
"by offering them the same experience they get from Call of Duty of course! And that means multiplayer. And lots of it."
"Wait, what do we do about the campaign? We can't just leave it out! Not with those pesky OLD fans we have!"
"It's simple, we just cut as many corners as we can. 8 missions, 8 cut scenes, and a bunch of random dialogue added here and there. Not to mention that once we kill one of the 2 most important characters in the story, those story lovers will never come back!"

As you can see, I'm very butthurt.


Agreed... as a die hard Halo fan I truly miss the old Halo. I only played Halo 4 less than a month and I am already putting it on the shelf.. Everything was great but the multiplayer, that is what kept me apart from this Halo. Hopefully 343 can step up in the next one and learn from their mistakes..
