Plummiting Xbox sales push Microsoft revenues down

4.7
Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division generated $3.8 billion in revenue in the last three months of 2012, as 5.9 million Xbox 360 consoles were shipped, which is down from 8.2 million during the same time last year.

The company also made $1.1 billion less than it did last year. According to Microsoft, this was "due mainly to lower volumes of consoles sold and lower video game revenue."

All-in-all, the Entertainment and Devices Division, saw profits up and revenues down. This was due to a reduction in marketing costs, and the latter was a because of dwindling demand for Xbox 360 consoles.

Because it has been 8 years, pretty much everyone who wanted a console has one now.
And with better reliability, people aren't as likely to buy them new since they last longer.
