PlayStation 4 price could come in above $400

According to a Japanese news source, the next-generation PlayStation 4 going to come in around $400.

A local newspaper made the claim that Sony had set the price internally above 40,000. This figure would roughly be about $430 at the current exchange rate.

Despite the claim from the newspaper, there are no official figures to support this. The price is rumored to be coming in around $399, but given the recent specifications of the PS4, a $400 price point would most likely mean that the console would be sold at a loss.

Sony's next-generation console will utilize the Gaikai cloud technology that Sony had purchased last year.

I agree, especially if it's going to be more than the Wii U.


The Wii U is not a very good console spec wise, and it is going for $400. The PS4 and next gen Xbox have a lot better specs. So they should be more... Not that I want that.
