Activision: Destiny to be a current-gen & next-gen 2014 release.

Activision issued a press release today which talks about the Destiny announcement from yesterday. Activision and Bungie signed a 10 year agreement in 2010 to allow Activision to publish Bungie’s new universe, Destiny.

“Activision focuses on doing a few things, exceptionally well. And Bungie has had the same ethos,” Hirshberg continued. “Together we are focusing the considerable resources, creativity and energy of both organizations to do something new, something ambitious, but most importantly, something fun.”

During the press release, Activision confirmed that Destiny may not be released in 2013.

Activision said that although Bungie’s 'amazing' new world was revealed yesterday, they have not included the launch in it's 2013 outlook.

If a lot of progress is made with Destiny, Activision could change their projected outlook. But for now, it looks as though Destiny is not expected for 2013.

Activisions press release also stated that Destiny will be available on “Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, as well as other future console platforms.”

My favorite was Halo Reach.


I think Halo Reach was the worst Halo, lol. I'm really crossing my fingers for a Halo 3 look a like. Halo 3 has to be one of my favorite games actually.

I love Halo but I would hate it if Destiny was like Halo. Otherwise it would just be Halo with another story and title..


The name destiny does make us think that it will be similar to halo and cartoony :/

Trahk I will probably not get it since its made by bungie I don't enjoy halo anyways ;p


Just because Bungie made Halo doesn't mean Destiny will be like Halo.


It is likely to be similar to halo just because that is all they have really made previously. Of course they will most likely look to be doing things a lot differently, but I will be expecting to see some aspects from halo in it :)

It's far from EA... EA servers are so bad, they're down even when they're up...


Yeah I've never liked EA's servers. Couldn't play BF3 without getting DCed
