3G PS Vita price cut in most Sony stores

4.3
The 3G PS Vita has gotten a price cut in most of the Sony stores across the United States. Sony has had problems getting the Vita to sell at anywhere near the numbers they had hoped for, and it appears they have now given the go ahead to cut prices of the Vita that has 3G capabilities.

The price drop seems to be in direct contradiction to what Sony had said last month when they dropped the price of the Vita in Japan. At that time, all of the company’s handheld gaming devices got a $50 price drop in Japan only. Sony followed that move up by announcing that there would be no similar move in the United States.

Some store employees have said that the Vitas with 3G capabilities are being discontinued and that Sony stores are trying to get rid of their inventory in response. Other employees have said that the sale is temporary, and will be ending soon.

It's because no one uses hand held consoles anymore. The graphics are normally terrible and they're so so overpriced.

Mazur I have never really been intreated in hand held gaming besides the iPod, iPad and IPhone

I don't like gaming on the iDevices. iPhones are too small and I don't have full control and the iPads are too big and annoying to hold. Plus the touchscreens make it a lot harder IMO.

SDP 3G isn't a great connection anyway. People now a days are more into playing games at home connected to wifi on a fast, secure connection, than playing whilst out and about when they could loose connection at any time due to 3G not being available everywhere.

Yeah I usually just use wifi at home

I think it has been available for it since it was released. It's an optional addition though.

iDevices can't really be considered as handheld gaming, a handheld device would be like the Gameboy or DS or the Vita.

I don't think they really needed a price cut, who knows.
