Next gen Xbox will have Blu-Ray!

Earlier today, a Microsoft Durango Development Kit popped up on the internet. Included with the leak were 5 images of the "Microsoft Durango XDK Documentation Setup" which shed light on previously unknown parts of the console's hardware and functionality.  

What we find to be the most significant aspect of the leaked documentation can be seen in the image below. It says: "Durango consoles will have a Blu-Ray Disc drive. Disc media will be used for distribution, but during gameplay, games will not use content from the optical disc." What do you think of this?

I am glad to see Blu-Ray coming to Xbox, but can't say i'm surprised though since the PS3 has it.

I doubt that would ever happen. They are huge rivals in this industry.


Who are they rivals with? The Xbox 360 had came out before bluray was popular world wide and there was no point for microsoft to change their current design otherwise it would be considered a next gen, they have no quarrels with this, where do you get your information from?


Sony and Microsoft are rivals.


Sony and Microsoft may have some contradictions but they have contracts with each other right now and that has nothing to do with BluRay!
