Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sales top 6 million

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has sold more than 6 million copies, it has been announced.

Xbox 360 developer 4J Studios made the announcement on Twitter earlier this week: "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has now sold over SIX MILLION copies !!!"

It is the latest milestone for a game that sold 15 million copies on all platforms in 2012, including 4.2 million units in December.

The news comes ahead of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition's imminent North American retail release.

Launching on April 30, the retail edition will contain the same content as the XBLA version, and will include all of the game's title updates.

The game is being considered for PlayStation devices once Mojang's contract with Microsoft expires.

Unreal to think this all started because he got laid off and decided to make a cave game, Minecraft is amazing.

This is rather impressive, the game just continues to make sales, there is no wonder to be honest that they are releasing a disc version of Minecraft. I doubt that it will take too long for the sales figures for this to top 10 million.

I think it would be one of the big games if they brought it out on disk, especially if they brung it out for the ps4

1. I can play it with my friends who don't have a PC.
2. It runs a lot smoother than it does on my PC with a way better Render distance.
