Battlefield 4 promotional material lists return of Commander mode

New Battlefield 4 promotional material reportedly spotted at GameStop indicates that the game will feature the return of Commander mode and the ability to play as three different factions in multiplayer.

Battlefield 2's Commander mode, which was absent from the last game in the series, gives one player per side a RTS-style overview of the map and control of various assets such as artillery strikes, vehicle and supply drops.
The GameStop poster in question, which is viewable in the video below, also suggests that playable online factions will include Russia, China and the United States.

The debut Battlefield 4 gameplay video lists a Battlefield 4 release date window of autumn 2013 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Publisher EA has said that the first Battlefield 4 DLC will arrive in the form of a "premium expansion pack" available to pre-order customers at no extra cost.

Kicka No PS4 release = me not getting this. Im not buying a ps4 and still play ps3 just cause this game didnt debut on the next gen consoles. Bad move by EA


They probably will release them on Next Gen consoles. But they will probably release it after the consoles are out.


I'm pretty sure that they've said that they are realeasing them on both next-gen and current-gen, as well as pc of course.

I'm not sure if I'm such a huge fan of commander mode. Cause in BF2 all it consisted of was the commander just proning in some corner of the map all match long. I think it's kinda retarded

VibeEditz You guys need to add a both section, as this has nothing to do with playstation, anyway, this is awesome, I have played commander mode so this should be easy for me, also, this just means a lot more guns to unlock, adding Chinese weapons, should be extremely interesting, thanks for the information.
