PS4's share button can be blocked by developers

The PS4 share button will not be a universal application, and can be blocked by developers.

That's according to Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, who told 4gamer.net that his decision to implement the application was inspired by his passion for Dark Souls.
But what in-game footage a user can share will be determined by developers, he said.

"There will be parts of a game that the maker does not want people to be able to see," he said. "For example, on Vita, developers can in certain scenes disable the feature that lets users take a screenshot, and [the Share function] will have a similar mechanism.

"The creator may not want to make video of the final boss sharable, for instance."

Elsewhere in the interview, Yoshida admitted that even internal Sony studios initially had trouble developing for the notoriously difficult PS3. He

"It's difficult to believe that games like The Last Of Us and Beyond: Two Souls are running on exactly the same hardware as those early games. Those developers have studied hard to make a great PS3 game. But it's taken a long time (for developers) to reach this point."

The PlayStation 4 is expected to release globally in 2013.

Ummmmm what about a camera or pvr

GourmetPosted:

Yea, I don't much understand this. Someone could just plug a capture card in and record it.

People would leak stuff anyways, with PVR's and other capture devices.
So there is no real point to do this..

OasisPosted:

Stupid idea. People will just resort back to pvr.

I hope it doesn't get annoying if you actually wanna share something cool

that's good developers can block out what they want. i wouldn't want some dumb kid trolling and ruining the ending of any games.
