Xbox One will require an internet connection 'once every day'
When asked by Kotaku how regularly the Xbox One will require an internet connection when playing a single player game, Harrison responded: "I believe it's 24 hours."
When questioned whether the user will need to connect online once every day, Harrison responded: "correct".
Harrison's comments elaborate on information on the official Xbox news site. According to that site, "[Xbox One] does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet.
"We're designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection."

I really don't want to believe anything posted here on this site. Everything that was posted before the release of the XBOX ONE was false information. I will wait till E3 to learn more about this before I make my buying decision. I'm skeptical of both consoles at this point.

This is most likely so people can't mod offline and to shove xbox live down our throats so more people buy it.

-TANK- I have been a huge xbox fan since day 1 and have always stood by them. but i am definatley leaning towards the ps4, especially after yesterday's shocking xbox one reveal. the whole watching live tv thing imo is pointless, if you want to watch tv then watch the damn tv, there's just no need to have that option through the xbox. i feel like microsoft are forgetting that this is supposed to be a GAMES CONSOLE. yes granted the apps on the xbox 360 like netflix have been a huge success, but they are supposed to be a side focus and not the main one. and yes the whole talking to the xbox thing seems impressive but i will guarantee after a month or 2 it will become extremely frustrating.
ya this si no longer a xbox its more of them trying to make it a tv kinda thing idk how to say it but they are less focused on games imop

I really want to know the exact reasoning behind this. If I want to play Assassin's Creed or GTA when I don't have a working internet connection, I should be able to. I see no reason whatsoever that this would be a problem. This I coming from someone who's internet rarely goes down without the power going out as well. I just see it being a problem to other people. Forget "the cloud." I shouldn't be made to use it. I don't like it. Saved information on the internet isn't exactly a safe thing. I like hard drives. Something I can physically have at all times, internet or not. I just don't understand Microsoft's reasoning.
