Sony has released a full list of technical specifications for the PlayStation 4.

They detail exactly how powerful the system is, and what other features it contains. Here's everything you need to know.


Recommended retail price:
US $399, Canada $399, €399 and £349

CPU: x86-64 AMD "Jaguar", 8 cores
GPU: 1.84 TFLOPS, AMN next-generation Radeon based graphics engine
Memory: GDDR5 8GB
Storage size: 500GB hard disk drive*
External dimensions:
Approximately 275 x 53 x 305mm
Mass: Approx 2.8kg
BD/DVD drive (read only): BD x 6 CAV, DVD x 8 CAV
Input/Output: Super-Speed USBx (USB 3.0) port x2, AUX port x1

Same with me. I just don't feel like paying $500 for the same thing as PS4. Yes I do realize Xbox One has a good amount of more features than PS4 but still. A 500gb hard drive for PS4, yeah I'll be glad to pay $400 and PlayStation Plus every month. Now we are pretty much even with Microsoft.

How is that creative. I could plug my gaming pc into my tv and boom. Something ten times better then what the actual xbox one is. All I need is a tv tuner and I can use my cable or satellite to instantly watch tv. Its not creative at all. When I buy a gaming console I am buying it to play games. Buying it for movies or surfing the web is ridiculous. Thats like buying a mac over a windows computer when all you plan on doing is surfing the web.

Well im typing this on my PC so yeah i do want my console to only play games and be very good at it since PCs Tablets can pretty much do everything the xbox can.

No thanks mate, I have a laptop, television and dvd player for that, not to mention the built in blu-ray player that I'll get with the PS4, you Microsoft fanboys need to realise that PS4 will win the sales this time. Unless Microsoft pull something drastic off. This is from someone who's been an xbox player all his life so I'm not just being a Playstation dicksucker.

KarmaRambo Each RAM type has it's advantages, don't start making assumptions because one has a bigger number at the end.


But Gdr 5 ram from the ps4 is better than Gdr 3 ram from the xbox one it is a fact not an opinion :(


No, this is an opinion. Each type of RAM performs better in different ways, man.


thank god someone knows what they are talking about, and ps4 doesn't have ddr5 ram it has gddr5 which has different purposes

You are aware that that is worse than the PS4 specs correct?


I don't see any differences.


PS4 has a better GPU and way faster Ram. PS4 has GDDR5 and Xbox has older GDDR3.
DDR3 is clocked at like 2133mhz and DDR5 is clocked at something like 5500mhz.


actually make me laugh, you are comparing 2 gpus that we no nothing about and as regards to the ram gddr5 is different to ddr5 they are made for different purposes
