If you paste the link, they are earned by playing games. But I'm sure they will be able to be bought through the Steam Store eventually, or maybe places like WalMart will have things where you buy a code and it gives you the cards online.

I don't use steam, but this seems really cool. I hope to get steam if I ever get a better/nicer computer.
