Angry Birds Trilogy coming to Wii U in August

Rovio has confirmed the Angry Birds Trilogy will be available for the Nintendo Wii and Wii U in August.

The Angry Birds Trilogy features Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio.

According to its developer, the Nintendo release "30 episodes on disc -- including exclusive new levels". Additionally it has "Wii U Gamepad and TV swap capability, touch screen controls and online leaderboards."

In May, Rovio launched a new publishing business called 'Rovio Stars'. The initiative will debut with Nitrome-developed Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage.


According to director of development Kalle Kaivola, Rovio Stars is "focusing on a small, select number of games, and each Rovio Stars launch will be an event of its own."

Rovio Stars EVP Jami Laes said the new initiative is intended to guide users to quality games in a flooded market. "We want to help our fans find quality entertainment among the more than 100,000 games available in the app stores."

I would love to play angry birds on the original Wii by waving around the controller. Now that is something that i would buy


Would it be the controller or Wii U gamepad? It would seem the gamepad would be used more for this.


Hopefully it will be made for the game pad. I think that using the game pad will be pretty fun though. I'm wondering how it will turn out

People who buy it for the Wii and Wii U. I personally won't play it because I just simply don't like Angry Birds but there will be people who will buy it for Wii or Wii U.

Can't go wrong with angry birds. :) It is fun and addicting, it is good that it is going to Wii and Wii U.

slapshot101 So basically all they are doing is just bringing Angry Birds to the Wii U, I wonder if they are planning to bring it to the Xbox and Playstation anytime soon.


Ummm... they have. Its been out for over a year now...


Do they? I haven't heard anything about Angry Birds on XBLA or PSN.
