Minecraft PC gets new launcher, is necessary for update 1.6 and beyond

Minecraft developer Mojong has released a new launcher for the game. It’s free, isn’t as drab-looking as the original, and is necessary to play Minecraft 1.6 and later.


The new launcher is said to boast better performance and stability, along with a new set of features. There’s also more password security options, the possibility of API plug-ins down the line and much more. I’m not au fait with Minecraft so I won’t insult your intelligence readers, just know what it’s better than what went before.

However, you’ll need to grab it if you want to play anything above Minecraft 1.6 as the current launcher will stop updating at Minecraft 1.5.2.

Probably, my 1.6 works fine, try updating your AMD driver.

The PC version is much better than the xbox version though.

I might get back into Minecraft because I've been getting bored of xbox lately.


I've also been thinking of getting back into Mine-craft for PC. The game looks like it has improved a lot since i last player


Trust me, it improved. Its awesome now! Colored clay, carpets, HORSES! :D That game is getting better and better.


I've never heard of any of these features, i might just jump on and have a play tonight in order to see what has changed and everything

I do not recommend it. I have stopped playing since yesterday. The only servers I played were a PvP faction server and MCCW. They only updated yesterday. Since the new launcher was released, the game is so buggy and laggy. The team have as much time they need to release it. The biggest mistake they made was giving out information too soon. This gets its fans over excited, which then relates to the pressure of releasing, in my point of view. By all means try it out, you will be disappointed.

Sorcery I tried this today and must say that it looks absolutely awful, they could have at least made it look a little neater and not changed the icon to a workbench.


Give them a little time to improve it. It was only released a few days ago


They've had time, nobody made them release it messy, they rarely fix things, only add or change content, so it's not as if they're pressured.

Did someone say horses, also known as ponies :3 I haven't updated my Minecraft in a while so I was unaware of this. Can you ride them like pigs or no?
