Rockstar Games has insisted that the footage shown in the debut GTA 5 gameplay trailer was captured from the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

"Just to clarify for those asking, this particular video was captured with footage from the PS3 version of the game," it said on the Rockstar Games website.

Although it is yet to officially confirm the project, a recent job listing indicated that the developer could be planning to bring GTA 5 to PC. The post called for a 'graphic programmer' to join Rockstar Leeds and work to "help bring our latest titles to the PC platform".

The post was quickly removed by Rockstar, but not before it could be posted on the internet.

"Rockstar Leeds are currently looking for a talented graphics programmer to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform," it read, "working together with the other Rockstar studios, you will be responsible for maintaining the studio's uncompromising quality bar, delivering the highest quality PC experience possible."

The wording sparked speculation that Red Dead Redemption, another of the studio's "latest titles" could also finally make the jump to PC.

According to the post, the candidate would also be required to work "with skilled developers on Next Generation games", seemingly a reference to the heavily rumoured PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

In a recent Q&A, Rockstar said, "We don't have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now."

The GTA 5 release date has been confirmed as September 17 worldwide.
