Sony Won't Appeal Fine Related to 2011 PSN Hack
"After careful consideration we are withdrawing our appeal. This decision reflects our commitment to protect the confidentiality of our network security from disclosures in the course of the proceeding," a Sony representative told V3. "We continue to disagree with the decision on the merits."

SAGEKerriganFuzzeh_XKarmaRamboMay I remind you it costs money to have huge departments dedicated to securing PSN and obviously Sony didn't think the income would be worth it in the games market so it was probably the last of their worries. If they would've had a better security team for PSN stuff wouldn't of happened that way but they obviously didn't put money into said huge security team for that department. Things change and i'm sure there ready to handle everything fine now.Fuzzeh_X-Wub I hope PS4 doesn't get hacked.
It's just as likely as the Xbox One getting hacked honestly. Sony has gotten their act together plus the PS3 was an easy target people don't realize Sony had a lot more things to deal with like their successful movie producing copmany the millions of products they make like TV's and what not they definitely dropped the ball but I think they've seen how big the gaming market has grown and i'm pretty sure they won't let anything happen now.
May I remind you that SONY have seperate departments for each of these products the produce? It's not as if one team runs the entire production of products.
One team had a job of securing PSN and the information it withheld, it's got nothing to do with the movies from SONY or TV's. The team that are designated to PSN security didn't to their job correctly, or they're just not as good as people who want to undo their work.
So?
Google runs the search engine, creates new lines of products, works on Android and chromebooks. I've never heard of a breach of data.
Microsoft does a lot more then just the Xbox, etc.
It's not an excuse.
O think when ttg post "Xbox live down they are looking into it" means they got hacked and they can fix it but they wont admit to themself being hacked and everyone thinks its lag or some crap.
yh because they don't want to worry anyone and it works

DarnedNutSCOInsanePanda PSN was down for a month and peoples bank accounts and psn accounts were lost and only 250k? :/
Just to let you know.. Out of all the people in life i know who has a ps3... None of their bank accounts got hacked....
Lots of people seem to have lost their psn accounts and bank accounts got hacked, I don't know anyone that had it happen to but it was all over psn where people had to go through security measures and laywers to get it back, Just because you don't know anyone that got hacked doesn't mean no one did
just because some of your mates did not get their bank details compromised, does not mean that others didn't
