Xbox One not available at Gamestop, retailers run short on next-gen

4.7
The Xbox One Day One Edition at Gamestop is currently unavailable, after the retailer re-opened pre-orders this weekend. All of the Xbox One Day One bundles – including Battlefield 4, Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, Watch Dogs and Call of Duty: Ghosts – are unavailable for purchase.

As of July 12, Gamestop still had Xbox One bundles in stock and open to pre-order, but these retailer stockpiles are dwindling fast. Amazon is out of Day One editions, but the Standard edition is still up for pre-order. Xbox One Day One pre-orders will hit Best Buy "soon," while Wal Mart pre-orders are still live. Wal Mart, Amazon and Best Buy both have the PS4 available for pre-order, though the launch-day bundles are MIA.

We've contacted Gamestop for clarification on Xbox One availability.

Not necessarily caught up, because Sony's sales haven't just stopped in order to wait for Microsoft, have they?

Only a few days late ;)

Besides there are no hard numbers out there, for all we know Sony is supplying less to the market than Microsoft and that's why they sold faster? I'm not sure but just trying to keep peoples' minds open.

No. Not unless the companies release the information or it gets leaked to the public.
^ This. This is what I have been thinking the entire time. The what if. What if Xbox supplied more consoles to dealers. What if Sony did. Then, if they told us how much they supplied, we would truly know who sold more units.

Interesting ... would there be any way to find this out ?
Think of it this way. Microsoft are clearly and have been proven to be more capable than Sony at larger manufacturing.

I see what you guys are getting at but in a console vs console war like this they don't count the number of consoles sold to third party stores, they count the pre-orders though.

It already is.

Really? Just because of DRM policies the Xbox One is good now? It was already an amazing console.
