Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal in mid-August

Infinity Ward plans to reveal the multiplayer component of Call of Duty: Ghosts in August.

Executive producer Mark Rubin posted the following on Twitter, later confirming that the reveal will occur in the "middle" of the month, suggesting it'll be on show at Gamescom, which kicks off on the 21st.

"Sorry I haven't been on twitter much lately. We are in our death march push to finish game. Lots left to do. Looking forward to MP in august"

Earlier this month, publisher Activision announced pre-order bonus Call of Duty Ghosts DLC in the form of a multiplayer map called Free Fall. It will mark the introduction of "dynamic map events" to the series, which see battlegrounds undergo landscape-altering events during matches. Call of Duty Ghosts DLC will launch first on Xbox.

Also this month, Infinity Ward studio community coordinator Candice Capen said Ghosts will "have a cooperative mode of sort". It was previously rumoured that Infinity Ward had dropped the Modern Warfare series' Spec Ops mode in favour of a new co-op game type.

Activision has confirmed a Call of Duty: Ghosts release date of November 5 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The game will also be a launch title for Xbox One and PS4.

I'm hoping this game will feel new, I wish I could say which company I like better but honestly i'm even with them both, I feel like WaW and BO1 were good but BO2 was stale, and COD 4 and MW2 were good but MW3 was recycled. I wish they would actually get a new engine, they've been on that modded Quake 2 engine forever just upgrading and upgrading.

imbarnett Always have faith when it comes to IW's year.. MW3 was pretty bad, but they're 2 for 3 in my book, not bad compared to Treyarch which is 1 for 3. But CoD4 and WaW we're similar, WaW mooching off of CoD4's success. Can't wait to see the multiplayer!


cod4 was based around modern times with completely different guns and maps and Cod5 was set during WW2, with guns like the MP40 Thomson KAR98K and it also included tanks etc... the only thing that was similar was the killstreaks, please get your fact right.


ratf, he didn't mean in the literal sense. he meant it played the same, cod4 felt much different from mw2 or 3 and he means that waw felt the same as cod4. at least thats how i interpreted it and agree wholeheartedly.

Just from the video of the campaign gameplay it looks like it's a better made game than BO2.

I like the way infinity ward a lot more than Treyarch.

I've never really been disappointed with a game from Infinity Ward.

i loved the COD series but it has went greatly downhill, i went all out for BO2 was expecting so much for competitive gameplay etc. but it was a massive let down and considering that Titanfall, Battlefield and halo are all running at 60 fps, COD is dead this year. may it RIP.
