Call of Duty: Ghosts leading software preorder sales - analyst

Call of Duty: Ghosts is the most preordered title leading up to the October / November release season, according to research by an analyst firm.


The data comes via analysts Cowen & Co, which compiles data based on NPD sale statistics and Amazon.com bestseller information. Titles are given a score based on patterns observed from these sources over the past five years, with the firm claiming its projections are between 96 and 97 per cent accurate.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is the top ranked title at 73 points, followed by Watch Dogs and Grand Theft Auto 5 at 69.6 and 58.4 respectively. Cowen analyst Doug Creutz notes that Ghosts is currently under-performing when compared to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Meanwhile, Creutz admits that the ranking for GTA V is "almost certainly" incorrect, as the company's data only accounts for sales made since E3 2013. The title has been available for preorder since November 2012.

Multi-platform games rank the highest, with the first next-gen exclusive title ranking fifth in the form of Killzone Shadow Fall for PlayStation 4. Forza 5 is the highest ranking Xbox One exclusive, ranking seventh.

How the hell is watch dogs the 2nd one? That looks like CRAP! BF4 looks more real then ghost but here is how I thought it would go.

No surprise here, this happens every year. What will be more interesting is what the trade in numbers will be for Ghost by January. We know the game is going to sell, but how many people will enjoy and keep the game.

I think BF4 and GTA5 should be 2 and 3 cause they look really good and so does the new COD.

People that like the battlefield series are obviously going to say BF4 first and same apples for the COD players, and anyother game. For me i play COD however i would like to see GTA5 atleast 2nd.

the only reason it's not is because kids aren't allowed to play GTA but are allowed to get call of duty. (Parents Decision)
