Sony factories 'running flat out' to meet PS4 demand

4.4
Sony’s factories are “going to be running flat out” to manufacture enough PlayStation 4 hardware to meet demand, Sony Europe boss Jim Ryan has said.

Speaking to EDGE about the demand for the console, Ryan said, “Factories are going to be running flat out the way demand is looking.

“There’s an awful lot of core gamers out there now and we will be selling to them certainly in this part of the world.”

Sony has already secured over one million pre-orders for PS4 – a figure it could struggle to fulfil for launch day.

The platform holder has previously notified retailers that any orders placed after August 5 may not be delivered in time for launch day, but additional stock may become available as it finalises allocation.

PlayStation 4 launches in the UK on November 29 for £349. Official bundles will also be available.

I do not think that Sony thought that they would be doing so well in sales.

Gossip Didn't know they were that short on supply.

It's not too surprising seeming that the demand for the PS4 is insanely high

Aussieguy That's not the case at all, PS4 has is outselling Xbox 1 4:1 at most shops and others are about 3:1. I originally thought it was becuase the XBox1 had most stock but it's not , PS4 had more stock and just seems more popular.

I mean who would want a Xbox1, when it costs $100 more and is less powerful then the PS4. Also you have to buy that Kinect which comes with the console even if you don't want it.

Yep that is why Australians are one of the smarter Countries :)

omg... please take that back i beg you, i don't want people too think Australia is full of annoying fanboys like you ://

_Bale Just shows how much of a brilliant console it is, a very high demand for consoles..

That doesn't show anything, it just shows Sony doesn't have the amount of resources Microsoft has.

Yeah 'resources' AKA chinese children working for $1 a day

Umm.... You know Sony products are made in China also? So both companies have factories where they pay minium wage which is around $1. They don't use children. They have to be a certain age before they can work in the factories. Anyway if you have a problem with this then I want to know how you are on the internet since more than likely the computer you are using was also made in China. If the product was not made in China or somewhere the minuim wage is much higher, it would be ridiculously overpriced.
All your sh*ts made in China. It's a fact that Microsoft have bigger manufacturing capabilities than Sony...

Or its the fact that Sony is selling more PS4s than Microsoft is selling XBones?

I don't think so. I bet if Microsoft had the same number of preorders they wouldn't be having problems.

UPPERECHELON1 What I'm going to HATE about this, is the scumbags that will buy the systems, only to sell them on Craigslist and eBay for outrageous prices. I can't stand these people

Third_Eye They're working their hardest to meet the demand? I'd love to work in those factories right now. Imagine that pay!

Prob just like a factory out in china producing them so no...the pay would probably be terrrible
