Microsoft: PS4 is Not 30% More Powerful than Xbox One
As reported by VideoGamer, Microsoft's director of product planning, Albert Penello, says allegations of a 30 percent advantage for the PlayStation 4 are missing the bigger picture.
"I’m not dismissing raw performance. I’m stating--as I have stated from the beginning--that the performance delta between the two platforms is not as great as the raw numbers lead the average consumer to believe," wrote Penello in a NeoGAF post. "There are things about our system architecture not fully understood, and there are things about theirs as well, that bring the two systems into balance."
Penello's comments were in response to concerns over the internal components of the Xbox One. The alleged performance advantage is mostly attributed to the advanced GPU and RAM found in the PS4. Penello cited the experience of Microsoft programmers in explaining how the Xbox One will succeed, despite the numbers.
Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb agreed with Penello's points in a later Reddit post. "We have some of [the] smartest programmers in the world working on Xbox One," said Hryb. "I am very much looking forward to the next few months (and beyond) as the truth comes out."
The Xbox One launches on November 22, while the PS4 launches on November 15.

Why is it that Sony fanboys always come swarming and never give up fanboying? On TTG alone, on the Xbox topics, I will always see at least one Sony fanboy. When I go on the Playstation topics, I hardly ever see even 1 xbox fanboy. But yet, were the "immature little 8-10 year olds" to the Sony community. Sad

Impossibility it will never be more powerful
If you are saying the Xbox One will never be more powerful, your accusation could be wrong. Personally, when I hear Microsoft I think of computer processing and internal hardware. When I hear Sony, I think of tv and computer accessories. If you meant the PS4 will never be more powerful, you may be right. Both are very strong, smart companies.

00thefear00RemeAmazeThird_Eye I'm pretty sure most people do understand the experience is what matters. If all your friends are getting Xbox Ones and you want to use your old LIVE acc, get an Xbox One. For me, the PS4 is better spec-wise and is $100 cheaper. When I was younger, I saw the PS2 exclusives as better. Still got love for the PS exclusives, which is another bonus to the PS4. That's just me, however. Everybody has different reasons for getting what they're getting. Microsoft's just mad Sony passed them up.
What do you mean by sony passed them up?
Scared_of_Water For those of you who don't know they said this because a gears of war judgement dev said the PS4 was more powerful then the XBOX1 and he didn't say 30% he said 50%.
Microsoft will use the cloud to a massive advantage over phony's shti game streaming... thats where the power will come from so pipedown. Anyone with any knowledge will know that the future of IT is the cloud and this is where the importance and focus should be. Hence why microsoft have hundreds of low latency servers spread around the world, what does sony have?
and this conversation just turned biased due to the fanboy above
I don't think many people on this site also know that the next direct x will be an Xbox One exclusive also. Which I understand is not about performance but just graphics wise.
