Call of Duty: Ghosts trailer has a space gunfight

4.7
A new trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts showcases some of the more bombastic moments from the upcoming shooter's single-player campaign, including a zero-gravity shootout in outer space.

The trailer also shows off its fair share of terrestrial battles, as well, demoing how the protagonist's squad of masked soldiers will work together to fend off an invading army. They'll do so with rappelling assassinations, trillions of dollars in property damage and the help of their trusty canine, Riley, who at one point during the trailer bites a helicopter out of the sky.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on Nov. 5 for current-gen platforms and Wii U, and is a launch title for PlayStation 4 on Nov. 15 and Xbox One on Nov. 22.

Hollywood_Undead Hence why all the kiddies are gonna buy it.

Space shooter = Little kids wasting money.

Plus, a normal gun can't even shoot in space.
And what freakin sense does it make when there is people shooting in space?
NO SENSE AT ALL.
Earth is for shooting people, not space.

I'm crying a little bit inside reading this. Clearly school was not a major factor in someone's life.

Why wouldn't a gun be able to fire in space? In fact, in theory it would be even better in space.
1. No gravity to pull the bullet (after being fired) downwards which means that the bullet could travel further(forever unless it impacts another object).
2. Minimal to no air pressure density to slow the bullet down, so technically the bullet would fire even faster.
3. A gun needs nothing on the outside for it to work. All the chemicals react together inside the gun.

I'm guessing this game is in the future. That's what all CODs are beginning to show (a future vibe). If an enemy country sent people up into space to invade another space station/satellite then of course there would be people fighting back to protect it.

Logically it is not a "smart" idea to fire a gun inside the satellite/station because it could cause rips/holes and cause the vacuum to suck anything and everything out to compensate for the difference in pressure.

Another reason why shooting a gun in space wouldn't be recommended is because for every action there is an equal reaction. If you fire a bullet, then the force pushing the bullet forward will cause another force to push the gun backwards (including the holder).

Unless the shooter is up against the station or has a harness tied to their side then the force of the gun would send the astronaut flying backwards with every shot. And, shooting in the opposite direction doesn't necessarily mean you will stop or go back the way you came.

So again, tell me why a gun can't shoot in space?

The idea of fighting in space sounds really cool and the graphics looked like they have improved a lot. Hopefully this cod will revive the series because it needs it.

CHP didnt they copy the rod idea from GI Joe?

The Odin strike is a play off the USAF idea of a weapon called "Thor". It's to drop rods similar to that of telephone pole sized and create an explosion by force. Unfortunately, the force of a blast like the current idea is so small, it's easier to send cruise missiles or a bomber to lay waste to an area without as much precision.

Gmlukens Wait, would it even be possible to have a gunfight in space? There is an infinitesimal amount of gravity and so many different factors that would apply to this, i dont even see it being possible

are you able to toss something in space? so wouldn't a bullet being fired out of a gun be the same type of concept? yes im sure it wouldn't act the same as it would on earth but its still logically possible?

True, but i can't imagine it would have the same velocity, but it still seems a little odd to me

ZENU96 The missions look nice but the multiplayer on the other hand...

Yah the multiplayer in the last few CoD's have been pretty bad and I'm assuming this one will too. I'll bet the killstreaks will be overpowered and one or two guns are going to just dominate the playing field.

the multiplayer if you think about it, has actually evolved for the better greatly throughout the history of the game. More strategic team play is required if you are actually playing ppl who play the game how its meant to be played (not quickscoping, trickshotting, etc..) not to mention how the guns are extremely well balanced COMPARED to other CODs. and so far every call of duty has made a revolutionary impact on the series multiplayer (mw2 brought multikillstreaks, blops brought a change in gun unlocks and character customization, and pro perks, mw3 brought new killstreak system along with a multitude of gamemodes, and blops2 brought scorestreak system and customizable classes) so i couldnt disagree with you anymore on what you are talking about.
