Grand Theft Auto 5 sales surpass $1 billion

Take-Two Interactive announced today that based on internal estimates it believes Grand Theft Auto 5 sales have surpassed $1 billion during its first three days at retail. According to the company, the game is the fastest product to achieve that milestone.

If the estimates by the Rockstar Games' parent company are correct, it will have beaten the already ridiculous achievement by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last year, which hit the billion milestone in 15 days.

Take-Two announced on Wednesday that Grand Theft Auto 5 had sales of $800 million in its first 24 hours (compared to CoD: Black Ops 2's $500 million).

Also, we're just using Call of Duty here for comparative purposes. Don't you worry. Call of Duty: Ghosts is still going to do plenty fine, with GameStop recently noting it as the "most pre-ordered" game of the year.

There is no way CoD, is the most Pre-Ordered game of the Year, it doesn't deserve to be the most pre-ordered game of the year, because it is going to be another Call of Duty, that nothing has changed except for the Weapons, and the Maps. This year, I hope GTA 5, just pushes CoD out of the way!

I never saw a single person mention saints row in this article.


I didn't mean in this post but a lot of people I've spoke to say saints row is better which obviously it isn't.

It's not the most pre-ordered. They're making up shit. It was either BF4 or GTA V.

nobody in the world worth talking to would EVER compare Siants Row to GTA.
In the past I would of considered them similar but saint row 4 completely changed it up in my opinion now they are nothing alike! I think of saints row 4 as a mix of destroy all humans and what saints row used to be lol. As for GTA 5 it's the good old GTA. I just can't wait for the multiplayer and to play it with my friends!
