GTA Online includes in-game currency microtransactions – rumour

4.6
A file pulled from Rockstar’s website seems to show that GTA Online players will be able to buy in-game cash with real money.

A Reddit user found and analysed an XML file from Rockstar’s website, which seems to show virtual items available for purchase in Grand Theft Auto 5′s online component.

These items seem to include “cash packs” in denominations of $100,000, $200,000, $500,000 and $1.25 million.

“Cash is king in this town. Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character’s bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting,” the description in the XML file states.

The news has not been confirmed, but has produced a predictably angry reaction among those who dislike microtransactions, especially given that some players have struggled to earn in-game money in single-player.

Grand Theft Auto Online goes live on October 1. it will include support for up to 16 players with various modes like racing and heists, supported by a crew system. The latest whispers say the player count may have been bumped to 32.

-LOST- I wonder what you'll be able to spend it on in-game?

Most likely everything you can buy in single player and a few other things. No way to know though until the multiplayer is released. :)

Breading wow, rockstar are being lowlifes

I think it's a smart idea. They know a lot of people are going to be playing the multiplayer so people will be wanting in game currency. I won't be buying any money unless it's extremely cheap but it's a smart idea on Rockstar's behalf.

It's not any worse than COD having the Camos for sale.

viscously I hope this doesn't go through.. It'll be one of those things where whoever puts in the most money runs it..
I myself, hate the idea..

I agree 100% I think that it will still be fun but I hope their is a way to turn off
"DLC Cash"

this is stupid its like cheating to the top. instead of doing work they can buy 1,000,000 which I think it kills the competition and the fun. my opinion.

Georgasm This isn't a bad thing, CoD started using micro transactions and no one cared. In fact loads of people were excited for new camos every few months. This can only benefit Rockstar.

But thats the thing, Call of Duty Microtrans. was for Camos.. Using camos gave you NO Type of advantage, It actually made you stick out Even more with that Glowing Halo one. So it was an even playing field, You colored your gun or you didn't. But this is just a dumb move. Its not who can afford it or Stop crying blah blah, But the moral of the game is to Make money? You shouldn't be able to keep saving these kids who take the easy way out and just instantly charge $50 worth of Ingame money. Its just stupid.. Microtrans. For Guns, Gun Camos, Cars or anything but not Money. That's Irony within it self.

--Eminem-- Oh god....pay-to-win? I hope not

Me neither, it would ruin the game.

I don't like this idea at all, GTA V is a great game and you should earn your money instead of paying for it.
