PS4 more popular among consumers than Xbox One, according to Reuters

PlayStation 4 will be this holiday season’s format of choice, according to a poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos.

Yahoo News reports that the poll was conducted last week – between Sept 23-27 and some 1,297 people were surveyed. 26 per cent of those consulted said they would buy a PS4 at or after launch, while 15 per cent preferred the Xbox One.

The gap is said to widen when sampling the 408 people polled under the age of 40, with 41 per cent favouring PS4, and 27 per cent looking to buy an Xbox One.

Off the bat, I’m wondering why most of the people polled were over the age of 40, seeing as the target demographic is currently hitting heights of 35, but that’s by-the-by.

Of the 1,297 respondent people polled, only 3 per cent said they played games on Wii U. 20 percent on Xbox 360, 18 per cent on PS3 and 20 per cent on home computers.

PS4 releases November 15 and 29 in the US and EU respectively, while Xbox One drops November 22 in both regions.

Exactly. Although in my opinion Playstation is better this year..


I think so too the presentation and some of the games too. But in all honesty the Xbox One has some awesome titles like RYSE that I really wanna play.

Of course it's popular. I took a small survey of my video game design class (40 people) and they all said PS4 except like two.

You have no proof and do not use the past as a reference as what done is done and more than likely will not be repeated in the future. There is a thing called Evolution and that is exactly what Sony is partaking in.


Proof? As you can tell xbox is more secure, ps3 had more console sales but live had more online players. PSN gives PS+ to try and make up for their crappy online service. Oh forgot to mention the lag off MP games on PSN. Xbox LIVE was better than PSN and now it has the cloud which blows psn away again


There's also no point in arguing as PS is better for the non live gamer but xbox has and will be dominate when it's about LIVE. Also the X1 is an entertainment system now which have awesome features for LIVE.
I'm not saying the playstation is bad (I wouldn't mind playing it) but Xbox live will provide a better service.

Well ps3 couldn't and now xbox has the cloud which can do absolutely amazing things. LIVE will be the best for online gaming(console wise) although PSN is good for those older people who only play SP games
