I wouldn't at all call this catching up.
I find it funny how you call party chat "catching up" yet the PS2 had something called the eye toy before the XBOX360 had Kinect but no one **** complained about that.

-Amplify PS4 may have party chat now, but Xbox will out sell them. The PS3 came out a year after the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 still outsold the PS3.
That just gives Microsoft a head start.
