Xbox One party chat accommodates eight 'at launch'

Xbox One will limit the number of party chat participants to eight at a time, Microsoft has confirmed.

"At launch, up to eight people will be able to join a Party Chat at a time on Xbox One," a spokesperson told Game Informer.

This is the same limitation placed on Xbox 360 and, as Sony has recently confirmed, is also identical to the party chat limit on PS4.

That Microsoft stipulates that the eight-person limit is 'at launch' could suggest a possible party size increase at a later date, but for the time being this remains conjecture.

Xbox One players will not be able to voice chat with Xbox 360 players due to technical differences, but profiles on each console will be visible to the other, and users will be able to exchange written messages between the two systems.

Microsoft released a sound comparison between Xbox One and Xbox 360 voice chat to demonstrate the improved quality on the new console, which uses Skype tech for its voice communication.

That's a pretty good improvement of voice quality.

It makes the 360's voice chat sound awful.

Dreams to many people at a time party full of 7 people is even alot especially when you have friends that dont know how to use their inside voice


yeah. sometimes i wish there could be more, but if you are playing the same game there is always game chat
