Microsoft builds giant Xbox One console in Vancouver

4.5
Microsoft seems to like making huge props to promote their hardware. Last week, the company erected a massive working Surface 2 tablet in London. Now, the company has topped that project with a huge Xbox One console that it has placed in a parking lot on the streets of Vancouver.

The fan site Xbox One In Canada first reported on the huge structure, which is 40 feet long and 20 feet wide. If you are in Vancouver, you can head over to the intersection of Nelson and Seymour to see it for yourself. However, the oversized Xbox One has not been placed there just to sit and look a bit like the Monolith in 2001. The official Xbox Canada Facebook page says that people can "pledge" their Xbox Live gamertag at the physical location, online at Xbox.ca/OneSource or via Xbox Live. Each pledge will cause the huge box to get closer to an unstated goal that when reached will cause the large Xbox One to open up with a mystery reward.

Obviously, this is a cool way to promote the launch of the Xbox One on November 22nd in Canada. The huge prop will apparently be making a tour of other Canadian cities but dates and specific locations have yet to be announced.

If this is the final product, they didn't make the console long enough in length.
Looks disproportional.

Doll I agree with Lavish, and it shouldnt be in a parking lot lol.

i agree but im sure the options were limited on where they could fit something this big lol

Yeah, I don't think there is enough space inside in a building without taking up the entire floor plan.

Wow this is crazy. I wonder how long that took and how long before they just destroy the hard time and effort it took to put into this

From what I can see in these pictures, this looks almost very dull. If this was to promote, they should have added a bit more detail than they did.

Side I think they did this to promote, but also for people to get a closer look at it so thay they will want to buy it. I would also love to see what will be inside of it when it opens up! I wonder how they built it without anyone noticing.

how they built it without anyone noticing is exactly what im asking myself.

Requirement Wow, thats crazy. That most of took them awhile.

I'm more interested in the amount of money that that thing would of taken to make. Seems to me like it would be pretty expensive

I'm sure it took a good amount to create. But money isn't an issue for Microsoft.

I bet it took them quite a long time to make, just look at the thing, it's massive.
