Sony won't ban PS4 consoles that arrive early to customers

4.5
Microsoft made headlines this weekend when it would not allow the few people who got Xbox One consoles sent to them ahead of its November 22nd launch date to use the product online. Microsoft executive Albert Penello later said the temporary bans on these consoles was due to the fact that the company is still trying to stomp out the final bugs in the Xbox One before the launch.

But what if, for some reason, someone gets a PS4 ahead of the U.S. launch date of November 15th, or the European launch scheduled for November 29th? Sony's President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, indicated in a Twitter post this weekend that the company won't ban any PS4 consoles that arrive to customers ahead of their launch dates.

Sony has already sent a PS4 to YouTube celebrity "Francis" to try out and the video seemed to indicate he was able to play games on the console. Sony has already announced that there will be a "day one" 300 MB software update for the console that will enable many of its features, including its ability to play Blu-ray movie discs.

Okay, but they NEED to start actually START a more active and advanced banning system on PS4, and I mean overall, think about it, bans are so rare on PS3 compared to the amount that occur all the ****ing time on xbox live, and sometimes "accidental bans" are issued to people for no reason hahah, I mean that's unfortunate but still hilarious as long as it don't happen to me, then I'm sad.

Seriously though, ban the deserving Sony, learn from Microsoft's overwhelming retardation, but also fix something that you didn't which was also overwhelmingly retarded in the last console (PS3) and that was using an actual banning system that was a little more advanced than what is.

Here's how it is: for every XBL ban issued to a 360 user, 700 cheating or complete douches on PSN get away with exactly what the 360 user got banned for. Heh, maybe...

Italian I'm sorry but this is just complete bull-crap. Of course they say this, and many people will think "Oh my god, see Sony is so nice!" Well in reality they only say this because their release is in 3-days. If it was almost 1-2 weeks in advance and this didn't happen to Microsoft I bet they would have done it. Smh at the way people are gonna see this.

Highly, highly doubt that. Sony doesn't just ban people for no reason. Microsoft is so trigger happy when it comes to banning, if it LOOKS like someone is violating the service terms, they get banned until 9999. Sony at least looks at the situation before banning. They've never been big on banning, and that's both good and bad. (This is coming from someone who has both consoles, as well as has both next gen consoles on preorder so fanboy slurs are irrelevant.)

On another note, Sony is playing the smart move by letting Microsoft **** up everything. After Microsoft says/does something stupid Sony saves the day by doing just the opposite of what they do and then telling everyone that they're doing the opposite. They've done this sooooooooooooo much since the introductions to the new consoles, and that's a huge reason to why they're going to win this generation of gaming.

microsoft is not trigger happy 90% of the people who got banned deserve it and sony dosent have to deal with all the modding hacking etc bullshyt, even though their is modders, not compared to the xbox community,

Sony's release date is very near, so I wouldn't doubt that their servers are up and running. Microsoft still has about a week and a half to go before they drop their console. Sony's not doing anyone a favor because they chose not to ban anyone, I guarantee you that those people will have their console unbanned within a few days prior to release

lol sony is getting sassy

Dang, Sony is very smart with this. They saw the advantage and took it.

Microsoft only issued the bans temporarily, for example you wouldn't want people on your system if there were still bugs etc. that needed ironed out. The bans will (or have) been removed as Major Nelson has gotten in touch with the people who received their consoles only to sort out the situation. I presume its just so people don't get the wrong impression of any features of the software etc. when the console isn't officially out yet.
