Xbox One is massive compared to the PS4

The Xbox One is a big console, there is no hiding this fact. But when you put it next to the PS4, you begin to understand how big it actually is. In fact, it reminds us of the first Xbox, as that console was also, quite large.

In the image above, you can see the PS4 sitting on-top of the Xbox One, courtesy of PCgamers.de. Even when placed next to the Xbox 360, the One is still quite large.

But does size really matter? To most gamers, probably not. Seeing that the Xbox One is a device that is designed to stay inside your AV cabinet, being portable is not an important attribute for the console.

Also, don’t forget that the PS4 has its power-supply built in, while the Xbox One has an external power unit.

There are likely loads of reasons why the console is so large, one likely being the need to keep all the components cool. Back when the Xbox 360 launched, it was plagued by defective units and seeing the size of the Xbox One, Microsoft likely spared no expense to keep the console from over-heating.

higuybye Sorry to burst your bubble xbox fanboy but the PS4 is better than the xbone in specs. The xbone will not be able to play games in 1080p. It usually plays it in 720 upscale or 900 upscale(what PS4 plays multiplayer at.) The PS4 plays single player at 1080p and also has more RAM because the OS takes up less of the RAM. Though the xbox does have features that I do love, the PS4 for sure has better specs and it is smaller. They could of made it better and bigger if they wanted too.


Forza Motorsport 5,Kinect Sports Rivals, NBA 2K14, Need for Speed Rivals and EA Sports UFC. Games the a running native 1080p on the xbox one, just wish some people will actually look up shit before posting. Any my xbox arcade is still going strong 8 years after I got it, my PS3 on the other hand got the Y.L.O.D. 4 years ago.

Its not a 'slight' advantage that the PS4 has over the XB1 in processing power, its over 50% on paper, and 50-100% based on real-world cross platform games.

But its clear why the XB1 is larger if you look at the relative motherboards that Wired has put up. XB1 has a lot of extra circuitry for the HDMI IN pass-through, the on-die ESRAM, and Kinect. MS has put a ton of resources into getting the voice commands and media features as the core of the system.

The PS4 is basically all GPU. It foregoes ambitions about watching cable TV on your game console, forgets about allocating resources and adding hardware for the camera.

Xbox all the way idc that sony fanboys try to pull the RROD thing when that wasn't very common the PS3 had problems and they got backed and PSN was town for a pretty long time due to hackers I wouldn't even trust sony at all after that
