PS4 available to buy at official London launch event

Sony has put aside an unspecified number of PS4 consoles to purchase at its official London launch event later this week.

Customers who've yet to place a PS4 pre-order will have the opportunity to pick up the system at the PS4 Lounge located at 17 Bedford Street, Covent Garden.

Queuing for the launch event will start on Thursday morning, with consoles allocated on a first come, first served basis from midnight.

Tinie Tempah will be performing at the event, while those queuing will be offered food and drinks from event partners Domino's and Red Bull.

Sony Computer Entertainment UK and Ireland MD Fergal Gara said: "Day one PS4 pre-orders sold out in record time and this could be the last chance for anyone who wants to get their hands on a console before Christmas."

GAME CEO Martyn Gibbs added: "The excitement and anticipation for the PS4 launch is absolutely massive. The PS4 launch is going to surpass anything PlayStation has done before - our pre-order numbers are around four times higher than the PS3 and we're seeing those numbers grow every day."

PS4 launched in North America on November 15 ahead of this week's European and Latin American PS4 release date of November 29. Sony has detailed a range of European PS4 launch events.

KAQ Honestly the local asda down the road hasn't sold out of them yet :/ so obviously it isn't that big of a deal ...


Lucky you, where I live none of my friends can get a hand on them unless they wait 'till Christmas or buy one online.

what and start a ww3 people would be looting gamestop and any other store that was selling them 2 consoles on the same day is never a good idea


No, as in all countries get Xbox on the same day, then all countries get PS4 on the same day, not making a different launch date for each country....
It's simply not as simple as that...

You were able to get an xbox one without a pre order on launch day as well, you had to camp for a few hours tho

Why would you be strictly Xbox, Both consoles are amazing and have different exclusives, I will be getting both. I can't miss out on the next The Last Of Us.
