PS4 sold 66% more units than Xbox One last month – Pachter

PlayStation 4 is significantly outselling Xbox One, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter said in a recent note to investors.

As reported by MCV, Pachter estimates the PS4 sold 1.25 million units in the US during the month of November, while the Xbox One sold 750,000 – putting the PS4 in front by 66% more unit sales.

Before you sound the victory bell, remember the PS4 launched on November 15, giving it 15 says on sale during the month, while the Xbox One launched on November 22, leaving it just eight days.

Pachter’s estimates, which we’ll know the accuracy of once the November NPD report releases, suggest sales of new consoles have come at a cost to existing hardware. The analyst believes the PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360′s hardware sales have fallen 28%, 65% and 44% year-on-year respectively.

Pachter has always been a strong believer in Microsoft but has warned the platform holder must drop the price on the Xbox One or PS4 will “win” this generation.

Racist Yeah. If xbox want a better chance at competing, they need to remove the whole kinect feature and lower the price from there. The kinect has to be the reason it costs more.

Or they could just sell it without the kinect maybe.

I'll be waiting until some time during 2014 to pick up one for myself

KAQ Nice i would think the figures will be maybe the same at Christmas because the price of the xbox one is to high :/

With the fewer days for XB1 taken into consideration, Id say both systems are doing great.

The troubling news / prediction is for Wii U. If it really had a 65 percent drop compared to last year, then it has sold less than 200k which for November (+Price Cut, Mario 3D and Zelda) would be catastrophic. Of course these could go either way. Anything above 500k means there is hope for the system while 200k and below are the final nails in the coffin.

66% more units and 88% more days at retail.

See what I did there?

While I have no doubt that more early adopters will opt for the PS4 over the XBO once 2013 is said and done, the numbers here are overly dramatic and verge on irrelevant.

Neither console is worth owning at this point. Mine already have figurative dust on them; the XBO getting at least Netflix use.

The first must-have title hits next gen on XBO in the form of Titanfall this spring. That will likely surge sales for the platform. Then the real competition starts next holiday season.

By then resolution-gate will be just a memory. A memory of launch games built on outdated XBO dev kits when the release console ended up with almost 20% more GPU power under the hood.

If XBO can manage a price cut, well have an honest console war on our hands come holiday 2014. Exclusive titles will duke it out, multiplatform games will grow even more similar, and both console experiences will be far more refined.

Next year, I think everyone will win.

I could see the gap closing a little around Christmas. A price drop with the Xbox One would really help in the sales aspect though

VH1 Maybe because the PS4 was released before the Xbox One?

That is a factor to take into account and also the fact that the PS4 was released in more countries.

KronikShadow Wow that is a huge difference.

I'm sure that the gap will eventually close in as time passes
