Xbox One system update tackles multiplayer issues
Going live at 5pm PST (8pm EST, 1am on December 10 in UK), the update will tackle issues with multiplayer, SmartGlass, notifications, dashboard performance, and wireless networking.
Here are the full patch notes:
Addresses SmartGlass issues for some users when coming in and out of connected standby
Addresses multiplayer issues for some users when re-joining games
Addresses issues with inconsistent notifications for some users
Addresses dashboard performance for some users
Offers improvements for Xbox One's TV, system update, and content update services for scaling over time
Updated wireless networking driver to improve connectivity issues for some users
Microsoft says you won't be required to download and install the update until after Thursday, December 12 at 4:00 PM PT (7pm EST, 12am on December 13 in UK), although those who use the Xbox One's "Instant On" feature will find their machines will auto-download the update as soon as it's released.
After the auto-download is complete, the Xbox will shut down completely and the 'Xbox On' voice command won't respond. You'll need to turn on the console manually and install the update fully to re-enable Kinect voice activation.
Here's some further info on the the installation process for 'Instant On' users:
- Your console will automatically download the update after you turn it off. Once the update has been downloaded in the background, your console will power completely down. Please note: You will need to manually power your console back on after the update has been downloaded. Because the update will power your console completely down, the "Xbox On" voice command won't be available until after the update is fully installed.
- When you turn the console on you'll see the update being applied. After that, your Xbox One will reboot. You'll know the update is installing when you see the Xbox logo on the green background (like at the top of this post.) This can take anywhere from 2-5 minutes. Once the update has finished installing, you'll boot to the Home screen and you're all set.
- Don't worry, if you are out of town for the holidays, you console also does regular checks for updates and will download it in the background even if you have not used you Xbox One in a couple of days.
Addressing Xbox One owners concerned about a lack of game demos available on the new console, Xbox Live director of programming Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb said recently, "It is (and always has been) up to game developers to do demos for their own games. They'll be more demos for Xbox One as the platform goes forward."

Wow. I really hope you're not referring to the article about how the ps4 sold 66% more consoles in November when it was out a whole extra week in that month. And ps4 doesn't have issues? They both have issues, it's a freaking console launch.
both have issues my azz, PS4 has a 0.4% fail rate it break the records in the worlds lowest fail rate for hardware while xbox one has a BUNCH n BUNCH of problems, failty CD drive, 1st update bricking the system, 1st time starting the system it would not pass the xbox logo, & there still a lot more issues reports, so stop trying defend a faulty system. xbox one has a LONG WAY to go till it be a descent system, while PS4 has a 0.4% fail rate & no one really complain about issues on PS4 cause there is NONE, all im saying is Microsoft need step up there game and worry about lission to there fans = costums cuase u think Microsoft cares about you PLZ no they dont they got rid of DRM & online polasies

both system don't have Issues ONLY xbox-one LMFAO or did u for get SONY PS4 has a 0.4% fail rate & also SONY PS4 0.4% fail rate break records in less fail rate for Software. =P
Just shut up. Seriously. They both have problems even though you make the PS4 seem like the "Invincible machine that can never have problems". That's obviously not true. You are a complete idiot. Only the Xbox One had issues? What about the PS4 overheating? What about the PS4 bricking itself when trying to update? What about the PS4 HDMI failures? What about the PS4 network already getting hacked. Sure Xbox has had just as many problems though! Just Xbox has had LESS hardware problems and that's why they haven't released numbers on the fail. Also the 66% thing is a complete lie. You're obviously an idiot because you believe what an analyst "estimates". That doesn't mean anything. I could become an expert of sales too by going to college and taking an extra 4 years. Then I could say things like "The Xbone One is expected to
Outsell The Ps4 by 400%. "
Is it true- no. It's just a guess.
Both consoles have ups and downs. Hop off the invincible Sony bandwagon and realize that every new electronic line is going to have problems

Idk if it's a game bug or the xbox. Because right now I only have battlefield 4 and like when I'm playing it my xbox dashboards for no reason and stops my game so I have to restart my game and its really annoying. And the xbox party chat is so garbage every time I join I have to turn the chat on. Now why would I join a party just to push another button to turn it on.
