'Minecraft' creator says no plans for a Wii U version

Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson addressed recent rumors Friday that a Wii U version of the popular open-world sandbox game was in the works. While he did put the kibosh on the rumor, he did leave a glimmer of hope for owners of the Nintendo console.

"I am not aware of any plans to release a Wii U version of Minecraft," Persson stated on Twitter account.

Minecraft is seriously everywhere and I am sure anyone with a wii U has a different system that has it available to them.

I didn't think there would be a plan for a Wii U version of Minecraft. I couldn't see it happen, but who knows in the future, after they develop the Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita edition. They could work on a Wii U version.

It would hardly sell if it came out on Wii U anyway. Im sure not many people will be disappointed
