Report: Wii U Outsold Xbox One Last Week

The alleged sales numbers for the week of December 21 have been revealed by VGChartz, and, according to the data, the Wii U outsold Microsoft’s Xbox One console globally last week.

As you can see in the chart below, the Wii U sold 319,860 units world-wide last week while the Xbox One sold only 307,366. Of course, neither systems come close to the numbers of the 3DS which sold 1,078,568 units last week to remain the top selling console in the World.

The news of the Wii U outselling the Xbox One is surprising due to the fact that Microsoft’s console is the newer of the two which has more “hype” at this time of the year. The fact that the Wii U sales are on the upswing can only be good news for a console, and a company, with high hopes for 2014.

Machamp There doesnt seem to be many people on xbox one at the moment on average their are 2-3 thousand people online at a time on cod ghost.


I don't know what game your playing but it isnt ghosts. Whenever I'm on it there is over 45000 people online.


I was about to say. If there where 2000-3000 people on at a time for ghosts i would be kind of worried about the future of the call of duty franchise


Yah, there is absolutely no way there is that little of people on Ghosts. It'd be pretty hard to find a populated lobby where people don't leave.

I don't have the console yet, but even on CoD 4 and WaW for the 360 there is more than 3k people online at a time.


I would think so, a new call of duty game having that little players would be just... odd

"The news of the Wii U outselling the Xbox One is surprising" - Not at all surprising considering Xbox One isn't even sold in Japan which is one of the biggest countries in the world. Also Xbox One out sold it in every other market they listed, again not very surprising at all.

It would of outsold the Xbox One in japan even if it was released over there. Microsoft is very unpopular over there. Just check the Xbox 360's lifetime sales in japan
