Bethesda may be planning to release The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Xbox One and PS4

OnlySP captured a screenshot of Bethesda's Skyrim website showing next-gen versions of the game listed alongside the existing Xbox 360, PS3 and PC editions.

It's unclear if the listing, which has since been removed, was an error or an inadvertent early reveal, but we've contacted Bethesda for clarification.

Adding fuel to the fire, a number of European Reddit users have reported receiving an email from Bethesda teasing a "very special announcement" this Sunday, January 12.

Skyrim launched in November 2011 and went on to win multiple Game of the Year awards. In June 2013, Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition. The product features the main game as well as DLC packs Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn.

Two months prior to the release of Legendary Edition, Bethesda said the Skyrim development had moved on to its next project after more than 16 months of post-release support for the title.

Haven't really playing this game but my friend has. He said the map and game itself was wide open. I can't wait to see the quality of the game play! It's gunna look sick!

Scizor Really sucks to see it shot down. Would have been fun to see it in High Def on the console. Although after clocking 2000 hours on a modded playthrough on steam, well, I may not be ready for skyrim again...

That stinks. I would of loved to see it on such smooth next gen consoles.

Sorry to crush your hopes but Bethseda has already said that it's not going to be happening.


Really sucks, I would of loved to play it on next gen. They said they have no plans for a Skyrim 2 either :(
